King’s Lynn Players present The Importance Of Being Earnest
The King’s Lynn Players return with the Oscar Wilde classic, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’.
To avoid his family duties, Algernon Moncrieff, a bachelor-about-town, has invented Bunbury, a sick relative who frequently calls him away. His friend Jack Worthing has invented a wicked brother called Ernest to disguise his misdemeanors. When Algernon poses as Ernest, confusion takes a hold and it takes the discovery of an old black handbag before Jack and Algernon can discover the truth behind the deceit.
‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ is a truly brilliant exposé of social follies exploring, religion, the class system, friendship and marriage. It covers these issues using really sharp and witty dialogue and offers, to the audience, a series of great characters to enjoy.
